You can definitely try to change it! Get in a little group, establish an proposal, & follow through with it! Make things happen.

Look familiar? Are you one of the students who has a B in first period?

We recently conducted a survey out of 300 students at our school. We found that the majority of kids had a B in first period. We asked them how much a later start time would benefit their grade in first period. A Junior who has chosen to remain anonymous replied “I have a B in first period, a very low one at that. It’s really not the homework that gets to me; it’s the fact that I have to wake up so early every day and cannot concentrate on a test so early in the morning. An 8:15 start time would really help me. I think I could raise my grade to an A by the end of the semester if I had an extra 27 minutes to wake up and get focused on school.”

We believe students will be more alert in class, have a better attitude towards learning, arrive to class on time, and even report eating a healthier breakfast due to a later start. This new start time could be extremely beneficial to everyone.

So this a page to help make a change in our school. We chose to alter our bell schedule. A lack of sleep often leads to distracted and dull brains. Our motive is to help alter the bell schedule to benefit our student body. Please complete those of the polls that you may answer.
